The greatest single cause of atheism today is Christians (...)
- dc Talk, "What if I stumble, what if I fall" [see music]

I [see me] am a Christian, a Protestant, to be more exact -- or perhaps that isn't so exact after all. When I tell you about my religion, suddenly a lot of people think that I'm either a complete weirdo, or just stupid. In fact, I've heard people saying things going along the lines of "come on, you can't be Christian; you're not that stupid!"... And people criticize Christians for being non-tolerant? :-)

Sure, religion, in all forms, is irrational by nature. But that is exactly why I (and many others) believe -- because life isn't really rational, and there are things one cannot really explain. "When I consider (...) the moon and the stars [see nature], which you have set in place, what is man (...)?" (Yes, I'm even quoting the Bible on my home page. There surely must be no hope for me ;-) )

Anyhow, I could probably go on forever about religion, but I'll try to keep it a bit short -- the entire topic of religion and Christianity is way too broad to cover here in full anyway, and I do not intend to make this a religious discussion either. I am Christian because I find things in Christianity which I really believe in and agree with -- I went to a Christian school [see school], but it still doesn't mean I have to agree with my school's or friends' views on everything. Most people (or at least, quite a lot of them) seem to be extremely narrow-minded on what a Christian really is or does... unfortunately. Now, quite possibly you may disagree with me on a lot of topics (including religion), and I have to accept and respect that. But I also hope you will accept my choice and respect the religion I have chosen to live by.
